The short stories are satirical, humorous and moving, and address such topics as: war between the sexes at home, politics in the cafés, and Torah scrolls in the streets. The stories were written by both well-known writers (Morris Winchevsky, Yosef Hayim Brenner and Esther Kreitman), as well as lesser-known writers.Vivi Lachs and Sheva Zucker (Yiddish teacher and former editor of Afn Shvel) will collaborate in presenting a series of stories – in English and Yiddish – and will discuss the topics that were highlighted by the press.Vivi’s book will be for sale.Only $25 – discounted from the $35 list price. She is the author of Whitechapel Noise and London Yiddishtown, as well as academic and popular articles. She sings popular songs in “Cockney Yiddish” with the bands Klezmer Club and Katshanes, and leads walking tours through the East End.
